Help Support Childhood Cancer Research at RSA 2017

Did you know that the average age for diagnosis of childhood cancer is 6 years old? Yet only 4 percent of U.S. federal funding is solely dedicated to childhood cancer research.

That’s why David Etue, vice president of managed services at Rapid7, is organizing the second annual St. Baldrick’s “Shaves That Save” event at RSA 2017 to help raise money to benefit the fight against childhood cancer.

According to the St. Baldrick’s website, “Because kids with cancer often lose their hair during treatment, ‘shavees’ for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation show their support by shaving their heads voluntarily and inspiring friends and family to donate money to support childhood cancer research.”

In addition to watching security professionals, including yours truly, get their heads shaved, you can also have a drink at the bar, get your dance on with DJ Ka-nete and visit with Stanford University pediatric oncology researcher Dr. Liora Schultz.
